David Gardner Senior Occupational Hygiene and Safety Consultant

The Partners and Occupational Health and Safety Group of Pinchin Environmental Ltd., welcome David Gardner, Senior Occupational Hygiene and Safety Consultant, to Pinchin’s Hamilton office. David brings a unique and broad combination of experience, education and dedication to his position, which will see him providing clients with a wide range of health and safety consulting services.
With almost a decade working with the Ontario Ministry of Labour as an inspector, occupational hygienist and industrial program manager, David has written and enforced legislation, and has a clear understanding of applying regulatory and standard-based requirements. His most recent position as a senior manager in a national industrial and transportation firm has given him the critical ability to take a practical risk-based approach to ensuring the safety of staff and the public while fulfilling all regulatory requirements.
An active professional, David is a current member of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) developmental committee for the new CSA Confined Space Entry Standard, and is part of the peer review process of the well known textbook ”The Industrial Environment – It Evaluation and Control”. He is a past member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association technical committee on confined spaces. David also develops and teaches courses in occupational hygiene as part of Conestoga College’s Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program in Kitchener.
David has an extraordinary educational background, holding a Master of Engineering (Occupational Hygiene) degree; a Master of Science (Health Behaviour); and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), a Certified Environmental Systems Manager (CESM), and a Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH).
