Our Team

The OHS division provides integrated solutions to construction, industrial, commercial, and manufacturing clients who require support in assessing and implementing various health and safety and industrial hygiene programs in their workplace. The combined skills of our industrial hygiene and safety professionals, their diverse backgrounds in safety assessments, auditing, program development and worker exposure surveys provide our clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.

Department Overview

Pinchin’s Occupational Health & Safety Consulting Division delivers practical, science‑based solutions to help clients manage workplace health risks and meet regulatory requirements. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the team provides technical expertise, project leadership, and client‑focused consulting services while supporting staff development and the continued growth of the OH&S practise.

Your Impact

  • Prepare proposals and project budgets
  • Develop OH&S policies, programs, and procedures
  • Conduct on-site assessments and audits, and complete reports
  • Conduct or manage occupational hygiene surveys

What You’ll Bring to Pinchin

  • A university degree in engineering, chemistry, or physics, or a degree in a closely related biological or physical science
  • Professional health and safety designation: e.g. CIH/ROH/CRSP/CSP or actively working towards certification an asset
  • 3 or more years of occupational hygiene and/or safety experience with sound knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation (e.g. WorkSafe BC, Canada Labour Code, etc.)
  • Consulting or project management experience is an asset

Your Impact as a Building Science Engineer

Role Overview

In this role you will work with closely with the Hamilton Pinchin team to help clients maintain healthier indoor spaces. Day to day, you will be a key point of contact for a variety of clients across multiple sectors, which will include assessing conditions in the field, as well as managing projects, and creating relationships with both existing and new clientele. You will collaborate closely with colleagues, including more junior members of the team, and clients to understand their goals and deliver solutions that reflect quality, integrity, and care. Your Role and Action

  • Continual development and maintenance of positive business relationships with new and existing Clients
  • Preparation and review of proposals for IEQ projects
  • Effectively manage projects start to finish, including acting as a liaison between clients, contractors and other project stakeholders; scope and proposal development; budgeting; project execution; technical support; review and preparation of deliverables; financial performance, and quality control
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractor performance and remediation activities
  • Lead and supervise project coordinators and technologists in their job functions and career growth
  • Train and mentor junior staff, including on the execution of established standard operating procedures and the review of written reports
  • Maintain and enhance quality control of our deliverables following established protocols
  • Collaborate on the effective delivery of projects with project managers and technologists from other divisions and offices

What you bring to the Pinchin team 

  • A degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science would be an asset
  • A related certificate or professional designation (PMP, EP, AScT, CRSP, ROH, ROHT. C.E.T., EIT P.Eng.) would be an asset
  • Familiarity with building systems: structure, envelope, HVAC etc.
  • A strong project management track record
  • Sound knowledge of relative Ontario and Federal regulations and guidelines and experience liaising with governing bodies
